;D
It's about time we planned a Scavenger Hunt!
Let's get some discussion going here to develop a good plan for running a Scavenger Hunt.
My input:
A prize in gold is always nice, I personally could sponsor 10g once or twice per month but I'd like to see if others would contribute as well. We could keep the prize at 10-25g that way the financial impact would be much easier to bear for the sponsors.
When considering the length of the event I think it would be fun to hold short events that anyone could do, maybe a one hour time limit to acquire everything or something to that effect. If all the items aren't found we could take the prize and "roll it over"into the next Scavenger Hunt, State Lottery style.
I think it would also be cool to develop a second much larger Scavenger Hunt, one that would involve a lengthy list of very hard to acquire items and goals. A fun twist could be to intentionally gear the event to make teamwork necessary to acquire the items & goals on it thereby hopefully spawning more quality groups like the A-Team; an interesting effect of this type of thing is that it would help our guild prepare teams for Raiding, which if you look at the average level of our Members is not far off at all now.

I think this is an awesome idea! Some input I have would be to not give out the List or items prior to the hunt as some of us do not have time to "trial run" things. It would keep it a little more fair for those of us on the lower end that may not be as familiar with areas etc as our high level counterparts!

I think the list of items to gather should not be availible from the Auction House. So pretty much "Trash" items. Also the items on the list should be accessable to everyone participating so nothing like "Broken Wurm Scale" where a lvl 30 or below couldnt possible get one.
