Since posting the screenshot of the one i ran into with Big, I found a Strategy for defeating the hardest of the 4 dragons, Emeriss. I looks like this is a lvl 60 raid boss (pre-BC) and is supposed to be for a 40 man raid at lvl 60, Not sure what it would take for lvl 70s (not that we have any at this time anyways!) Id thought I would give everyone a sneak peek at what type of battles are in store for the guild as we continue to grow.

Overview
Emeriss is one of the Emerald Dragons. The other Emerald Dragons are Lethon, Ysondre, and Taerar. These dragons are World Spawns which are located in Duskwood, Hinterlands, Feralas, and Ashenvale.
The dragons can all Sleep Green Dragon Breath, and Tail Swipe. Each Dragon has a special ability that is activated at 75%, 50% and 25% of their hit points.
Emeriss Abilities
Sleep - AOE sleep that target random areas around Emeriss that sleep PCs for 4s.
Green Dragon Breath - Increases cool downs on all abilities. Main tank only. Volatile Infection - Infects an enemy for 2 min., causing it to inflict 875-1126 Nature damage to its nearby allies every 5 sec.
Tail Sweep - Hits anyone near her tail away.
Volatile Infection:
Infects an enemy for 2 min., causing it to inflict 875-1126 Nature damage to its nearby allies every 5 sec.
Countering Emeriss Abilities.
Sleep
Sleep forms around the dragon and it looks like a cloud of mist. It will roam around and spread it also seems to be attracted to nearby players. To avoid this sleep you must move as soon as it starts to get near you. Sometimes it's unavoidable as the sleep will spawn upon your raid group. Just make sure when this happens you have your MT healers spread about as it's fatal to have all of your healers slept at once.
Green Dragon Breath
This comes from the dragon and is a cone effect ability meaning that it comes from the dragon's mouth and will only hit anyone within about 45degrees of his head wherever it's facing. It's very important that the main tank keeps the dragon upon him when they dragon is doing this so it will avoid many getting it. Also because this breath is slightly different that most breaths because it increases cool downs make sure your dmg dealers hold back slightly if your main tank gets unlucky and doesn't resist a lot of these he will not be able to use his main agro gaining abilities as much as usual due to the cool downs being increased.
Tail Sweep
This will hit anyone within 30 yards behind the dragon for 600-1001 dmg and it will cause them to be knocked back along way. Just make sure that no one is standing directly behind the dragon at all times.
Corruption of Earth
Every 25% of his health (75%, 50%, 25%) Emeriss will release an AoE which deals 100% of your max health in damage over 10 seconds. Its quite simple to counter all you have to do is get a heal of any type as this does 100% of your health then after the dot is finished just get healers to heal everyone back up to 100%.
Volatile Infection:
Infects an enemy for 2 min., causing it to inflict 875-1126 Nature damage to its nearby allies every 5 sec. Just make sure that when this is cast upon anyone they immediately get dispelled.
Walkthrough
Before you pull there is usually 2 minor wandering dragons in the immediate area thee must be killed and also there are usually 2-3 roaming packs of dragonkin that need to be killed prior to the pull. But make sure that once you start killing these roaming packs that they are on a semi short re spawn timer so don't delay in engaging Emeriss after you have cleared them as you don't want them popping on you in the middle of the fight. If by any chance they do pop in the fight they can be slept so just make sure your raid druids are aware that if they pop its their job to sleep them.
It's always best when choosing a main tank that you have him wearing high nature resist gear for this fight as the more he resists the more dmg your entire raid can do.
This fight is relatively easy the only hard part is the 75%, 50% and 25% Emeriss will release an AoE which deals 100% of your max health in damage over 10 seconds. To counter this everyone must get a heal. It doesn't matter how much of a heal they get as long as they get 1 heal. Players should use pots if they are not being healed. If your raid group doesn't feel like they can heal through this then at 76%, 51% and 26% get your dmg dealers to retreat out of his AoE range which is around 100 yards. Once he announces to the zone that he has casted his AoE then they can run back in and you just repeat. If anyone dies they will spawn a mushroom and it has a very nasty AoE caught near them this is why it matters so much that everyone must not die as a few well placed mushrooms spawning will wipe a raid.
Tips:
Just remember that when the % ability is about to happen that the raid is well healed and no one is low health.
Make sure that you have a backup main tank ready to get agro if the main tank accidentally dies and the healers know who that warrior is before the fight too.
In the % stage make sure the people that get the volatile Infection get extra heals because they will need more than just 1 small heal.
If your healers ever get low on mana you can always go well out of range of the dragon and you will come out of combat within a few seconds this will allow you to drink and get back into the fight. This also applies to melee that have lost their healers if they feel that they will die they should also run out of range and heal themselves up.
Everyone should bandage as much as possible to save healers mana as much as possible so they can heal the main people that need it. In this fight if you are not one of the MT's or the Aoe's you shouldn't really be getting any damage at all.
