First off, I know there was an intro thread, but I couldn't find it (quickly ;-)
I'm a guy who cut his teeth as a gamer on paper and pencil D&D. Been playing RPG's on the side (Morrowind series, modified, Heroes of Might and Magic) ever since. I stick to computer games because my trigger thumb just isn't fast enough for X-Box.
I'm also a chess fan for the same reason as an RPGer, I enjoy the strategy of a game. I couldn't name all the chess moves properly, just like I can't calculate to the final degree damage ratios in WoW, but I do like the strategy.
I served eight years in the Army, raised two boys and working on a third. Married to a woman that will NEVER play WoW and have been a basketball coach (AAU), sports editor, disc jockey, fiction writer, EMT and am currently beginning a new career as a nurse (you are never too old to go to school!)
I started playing this game seven or eight months ago at the urging of my oldest son, who was in the Navy at that time. While it was great to be able to play with him on-line, his guild had been playing the game since its beginning and played hardcore on a PvP server. Needless to say, I stood back, watched and learned.
I realized that I needed to catch up on the dynamics of the game to keep from coming across as a complete moron, so I devoured information from tons of sources. These days, I couldn't tell you much about the Outlands, but my brain is filled with WoW facts, styles, maps.....and if I don't know it, it's likely I printed it out and it's on my bookshelf.
Anyway, my son abruptly quit, just generally burned out on the game and I abandoned PvP. First I rolled a pair of Horde characters (rogue and shaman), then transfered Mithraic to this server. I really had zero intentions of joining a guild, because I play to relax and there was a lot of stress in my previous group. But there were some good times, like taking over the Horde airships or filling up a tavern with your guildmates and just chatting (met a lot of new people behind the toons). So I went searching for a guild and landed here.
In short, that's me :-)
